Father and son, Victoriano and Van Victor Leaño shares with us their love for Isuzu vehicles and how they can attest to its ‘Durability and Reliability’.
In the 1980s, father of four, Victoriano drives around a single-cab Isuzu KB which he installed Campershells and is used for both family and business; hauling fruits and vegetable from La Trinidad, Benguet back to their family business in Manila.
“It was my first Isuzu, the KB, it served the family for so long and has been my partner in business. I remember that I used to drive the kids on long trips going to Ilocos and then back to Manila, we will just put blankets at the back to make them feel more comfortable – they really love it,” Victoriano fondly shares.
Growing up, Van has always been a believer of Isuzu, “My father is a die-hard Isuzu owner, and I can see why, its durable and reliable – it has never let us down,” he said.
After the KB, his father bought another KB 4-door and then in 2005, his dad bought the first-generation Isuzu D-MAX, that was then passed on to him. “I was really glad that he entrusted me his 2005 D-MAX, I know how valuable it is to him,” he said. The reason behind it was that his father upgraded to a 2014 Isuzu D-MAX. ‘I needed an upgrade, but I can’t let go of the D-MAX, so I decided to give it to Van,” his dad said.
Since then, Van has been using the D-MAX running his own and helping the family business. “It’s perfect, helping in the business and me doing my adventures on the weekend,” he said. “I’ve changed the tires and added a few accessories, but the performance and fuel efficiency is still the same,” he added.
Just last year, the family added another Isuzu, a 2018 Isuzu mu-X. “I already have grandchildren. So, I thought to myself, why not the mu-X – so can carry more of my family during our trips. I still keep the 2013 D-MAX though, mostly for business,” Victoriano said.
Van as he shares already has his own family, “I have my own family now and I’m sure that when my son is old enough, there will be three Isuzu vehicles driving down the highway,” he said.
