ELEMENT FUEL FILTER

It is possible that fuel contains impure substances such as iron rust, dust and moisture, and if it does, and such contaminated fuel is supplied to the engine without treatment, these impurities could cause fuel injection pump and injector nozzle clogging or abnormal wear.

Fuel impurities will gradually clog the filter paper preventing fuel to pass, causing insufficiency of fuel supply to the engine.

Loss of engine power, emission of black smoke, and excessive fuel consumption indicates possible clogging of fuel filter and necessity of parts replacement.

Maintenance Intervals:
- Inspect and clean fuel filter during Periodic Maintenance Service (PMS) and in between service intervals
- Replace fuel filter every Six (6) months of 10,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.

COMPARATIVE INFORMATION

ISUZU Fuel Filter

- Material used is made up of plant fiber that is for high precision filtering.

- The dimensions of the filter paper fit the specifications of the engine. This guarantees maximum performance. Deviation from flatness of the sealing plate is securely sealed.

- Has a newly improved heating plate that prevents leaks in its adhesive surface.

- Uses high-grade oil-resistant rubber material. The elasticity in the rubber changes to a smaller size through time making the gasket secured and sealed perfectly.

Non-Genuine Fuel Filter

- Material used is made up of recycled paper and mills end that are usually mixed.

- The dimensions of the filter are smaller. This does not fit the specifications of the engine. Deviation from flatness of the sealing plate has a big distortion.

- Uses only ordinary rubber.



CLUTCH DISC

Clutch discs perform the function to smoothly transmit or cut the motive power generated by the engine to the transmission in response to the operating conditions such as starting, acceleration, deceleration and stopping.

As clutch discs are used repeatedly, their friction parts gradually get worn out. In addition, too much half-clutch operation will not only cause quick wear but also deteriorate the surface of the clutch discs, leading to a need for replacement.

Difficulty of changing gears smoothly, loss of motive force, and excessive fuel consumption are signs of worn-out clutch discs, indicating necessity of parts replacement.

- Inspect periodically

COMPARATIVE INFORMATION

ISUZU Clutch Disc

- Lots of variations fit a wide variety of vehicle models.

- Durability. It can withstand more than 80,000 kilometers.

- Has a smooth starting and steady torque transmission.

- Have proper friction coefficient properties that prevent quick wear and deterioration.

Non-Genuine Clutch Disc

- Some could not be adopted to some models.

- Could only withstand less than half of the kilometer mileage of Genuine Parts.

- Tends to generate juddering problems and unsteady torque transmission.

- Has an inferior friction coefficient generating heat up to 300 degrees Celsius with clutch half engaged.



ELEMENT OIL FILTER

Sludge (a product of oxidation), carbon, and metal powder will be generated as it is used. These impure substances produced in the engine oil could cause damage to the cylinders resulting in engine burnout. To prevent this, the oil filter takes out harmful impurities from the engine oil that lubricates the interior parts of the engine that are subjected to friction.

The carbon and impurities generated in the engine oil during using use will gradually accumulate on the filter paper to clog it up. As a result, the engine oil will progressively get difficult to pass through the filter. If the engine is operated under this condition, early wear of engine internal parts will lead to problems like increase in fuel consumption, loss of power, excessive smoke emission, and in the worst case, engine seizure.

Most of the non-genuine parts available in the market have inferior quality and could not be expected to perform required filtration function. To ensure prolonged and economical service life of your vehicle, it is always suggested to use only genuine parts and religiously follow the manufacturer's recommended replacement interval.

Maintenance Intervals:
- Replace oil filter regularly during preventive maintenance servicing.
- If vehicle is operated under severe driving condition, replacement period should be shortened.

COMPARATIVE INFORMATION

ISUZU Oil Filter

- Material used is made up of highly-selected plant fiber that is dual-layered. Has a long life span and can capture even minute particles.

AIR FILTER

The air contains impure substances such as microscopic dust particles. If the engine takes in the air without treatment, those impurities can cause adverse effects on the engine such as early wear of the cylinders and piston rings or early deterioration of oil. To prevent this, a filter paper is used in the air cleaner element to supply clean air to the engine.

In cases of use of non-genuine parts, or the owner neglects to perform the necessary preventive maintenance, the air filter will not be able to perform its required function. If operated under such condition, the engine shall be prone to increase in fuel consumption, loss of power, excessive smoke emission, and engine seizure.

To ensure prolonged and economical life of your vehicle, it is strongly suggested to use only genuine parts and religiously follow the manufacturer's recommended preventive maintenance servicing.

Maintenance Intervals:
- Inspect and clean regularly during Periodic Maintenance Servicing (PMS) and in between replacement intervals.
- Replace air filter annually or every 20,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. If vehicle is operated under severe driving conditions, replacement interval should be shortened.

ENGINE OIL

Engine oil is similar to human blood. It performs a range of functions including lubrication, cleaning, cooling, rust prevention, and sealing, etc.

Performance of engine oil degrades due to the soot generated by combustion of fuel, contamination with moisture, oxidation by heat, and degradation of additives.

If you continue to use deteriorated engine oil, the engine will get worn out quicker than usual. It will also cause sludge to be generated and clog lubrication paths to cause engine seizure.

Isuzu Genuine Motor Oil is specifically developed by Isuzu to meet Isuzu engine oil property requirements such as oxidation stability, viscosity index, detergency, and rust protection inhibitors.

Maintenance Intervals:
- Inspect engine oil level and system leak regularly.
- Change oil every three (3) months or 5,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. If vehicle is operated under severe driving condition, replacement period should be shortened intervals.



ENGINE COOLANT

Engine is cooled by water circulated by the water pump through the paths built in around cylinders (water jacket), which will then remove the generated heat from the engine and release it into the air through the radiator.

LLC (Long Life Coolant) generally used as the cooling water has anti-freeze and rust prevention effects. When rust prevention performance has degraded, impure substances will be generated by and cause clogging of the radiator, or shorten the life of the water pump, which will lead to a tendency of engine overheating and seizure.

Isuzu Genuine Long Life Coolant main components include Ethylene Glycol and rust inhibitors. Not like traditional phosphate and borate containing coolant, it does not react negatively with the aluminum components such as radiator assembly, water pump, and other engine-related parts.

Maintenance Intervals:
- Inspect engine coolant level and system leak regularly.
- Change engine coolant annually or 20,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
