Isuzu’s history goes back 80 years. The company from which it was born was the first in Japan to produce automobiles and later, trucks. From then on, Isuzu has pioneered in countless breakthroughs. Aside from the world’s largest diesel engine maker; Isuzu built Japan’s first diesel in 1936, the first V8 water-cooled diesel engine, the first diesel engine to an Antarctic expedition, the first diesel passenger car, the first 4-cylinder direct-injection engine, the first 4-valve diesel engine.
With a keen focus on perfecting the technology, Isuzu diesel engines take advantage of dingle and double overhead cams designed for power and efficiency. This results to having the most finely tuned engines with high-pressure direct fuel injection that deliver better and more efficient combustion.
