Isuzu D-MAX LS Limited Edition earns stripes as true sports vehicle, stars in mall tour
09 May 2013
THE Isuzu D-MAX pickup truck continues to strengthen its popularity not only as a genuine workhorse that owners have come to depend on but also as a partner in sporting lifestyle activities as Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) unveils the D-MAX LS Limited Edition.
Adorned with sporty racing stripes on its front bumper and hood, the D-MAX LS Limited Edition promotes a high-performance look that perfectly suits the D-MAX LS variant’s premium features. The Metallic Gray racing stripes, which have red outlines for further detailing, are guaranteed weather-proof and, in fact, are included in the vehicle’s warranty. IPC offers the racing stripes exclusively to Glacial White and Ebony Black D-MAX LS 4x2 and 4x4, and manual transmission or automatic transmission variants.
The D-MAX LS Limited Edition is powered by Isuzu’s 4JJ1-TC iTEQ Common Rail Direct Injection with Turbo Intercooler EURO 2 engine that makes 146Ps @ 3,800rpm and 294Nm @ 1,400rpm to 3,400rpm. Its independent double wishbone with torsion bar springs and stabilizer bar in front, and Flex Ride MOVE suspension semi-elliptical leaf springs with telescopic shock absorber in the rear, provide control and ride comfort over any road condition. It can be ordered with black-finish step boards for the 4x2 and step tubes for the 4x4; front chin; and Royal-finish with black accent alloy wheels. Inside, the pickup also has black leather-vinyl combination seats; black vinyl door trim insert; illuminated plate; and an entertainment system that has a 6.2-inch WVGA digital TFT LCD screen, plays DVD/WMA/MP3 formats, and connects to Bluetooth and iPods, as well as to an optional dealer-installed navigation system.
Perfect multisport partner
It’s this combination of power, utility, premium equipment and dynamic looks that has made the D-MAX LS highly capable in tackling sporting activities. No wonder that this award-winning vehicle is the perfect training and competition partner to the Isuzu D-MAX Multisport Team and its celebrity member, Matteo Guidicelli.
Starting in 2011 as the Isuzu D-MAX Racing Team before being renamed as the Isuzu D-MAX Cycling Team, the group has topped competitions in local and regional cycle-racing series. However, more and more leading athletes from various sports disciplines have joined its roster, and so the team eventually entered into multisports events as well, with additions like Guidicelli emerging as among the strongest contenders in numerous competitions.
From being a force to reckon with in downhill/gravity mountain-biking and in cross-country cycling, the Isuzu D-MAX Cycling Team last year ventured into road biking and Xterra biking/running, as well as in open-water swimming, making it a true multisports team that can conquer land, water and gravity. It has been recognized by the Downhill Riders Organization of the Philippines (DROP) as the team of the year.
This year, the team—under the Isuzu D-MAX Multisports Team name—has vowed to take on land events like biking and running, water sports through swimming, and podiums by winning—all in line with the Isuzu D-MAX pickup’s tagline of “The Possibilities are Endless.”
Mall tour
During the 2013 Isuzu Nationwide Mall Tour leg that was recently held at the SM Mall of Asia, Guidicelli shared his very positive experience with the Isuzu D-MAX, relating how the vehicle has aptly served the team in their numerous competition events. Joining him at the mall tour were other Isuzu D-MAX Multisport Team members like Frederick “Coach Eboy” Farr, Alvin Timbol, Enzo Timbol, Dunn Lawrence Sahagun, John Derrick Farr, Jesus Marco del Carmen and Noel Salvador.
Through the 2013 Isuzu Nationwide Mall Tour, which started on March 4 and which will last until May 29, IPC is bringing its range of family-friendly vehicles to popular shopping malls across the country so that more Filipinos may check out the latest Isuzu offerings. Besides the D-MAX, other Isuzu models like the Alterra SUV and the bestselling Crosswind AUV are also featured at the mall displays, giving visitors the opportunity to realize the reasons why Isuzu vehicles are popular among families of Overseas Filipino Workers, people engaged in small to midsize businesses, and even to those who use them for personal and recreational pursuits.
Guidicelli’s next appearance at Isuzu’s mall tour will be on May 18 in Davao City, giving Davaoenos the chance to meet the popular celebrity and athlete. The mall display will be held from May 14-20 at SM City Lanang.
